  1. I really like the 'red' in this drawing!
I'd imagine how nice it will be if a large print of it hanged on your cafe's wall :)

  4. Ar, no worry cos' I noticed you have been working very hard in your drawing life, although I am not sure how is your working life recently.

Yes! I am drawing a book for Peko and Pudo. I received a comment sheet from my tutors...and they asked me to REDESIGN the characters...cos' they said they are not mine and they are so 'Hello Kitty'.....so disappointed that my tutors did not understand my working process. I don't mind if they refused me to exhibit at graduation show....

I will keep them, but I will try to further promote the essence of Pudo and Peko on the story. They are originated from Nadia, just have long ears and little eyes added for easier communication. Nothing related to Hello Kitty.

I am influenced by 'negative power' easily, no matter in Hong Kong or in London. I am always happy to have someone who is mature and rational to explain what happened.

My friend just came to London from Hong Kong because of his work. I am so glad he explained me about my tutor's comment. He is neither on my tutors nor my side, but he just explain from what he understand from the creatives in Hong Kong and in Europe. Good to know and relieved from anxiety....cos' I started to worry about my life in HK.

I won't be self-indulgent in my ideas, but it is good to listen and see how my idea could be delivered in an appropriate ways.

Be confident and don't be affected by 'devil thought'. Life is always bright and beautiful.

    1. ah ... Jas, well, I think its becoz for europeans they dun really have a ood understanding about aisa and east. It's like they tend to think all chineses look alike! I do not see there any similarity between your character and hello kitty. Those tutors tried to put things into category by their stereotype. Most likely if I present to them intera, they would say its so "little people" or "doraemon" ... I still remenber how disappointed and frustrated it was to have my drawings be considered similar to another so called famous illustrator ... remenber that?

My working life is very 'so so' as usual. You know my mind, always thinking of something else. Jas, me either, I think I am influenced by negative thoughts so easily either! And yes, you are right, there so many uncertainities about the illustrated life in Hong Kong. But I think you are very mature. Even if the atmosphere isnt that good here, still I think there should be some 'silly' people (like us?) to do something, to create something.

Yes, life can be so beautiful. I could not plan much but to keep thinking about a 'book' ... what should it be like? what the story plot shud be?

      You are brave Jas!

  5. Thanks so much!!!! I like your explantation of 'stereotype'.
I always hear comment in Hong Kong, or London, that the illustrators copied the others and suchlike...

I don't agree, since they may not understand what the objective or illustrator's story. Why did they create that? If we found the illustrations touching but the style looks like the others, it doesn't matter to me since the message behind is more important than the execution.

We don't need to convent a new technique, but the message itself should be emphasized more, that's what illustrators hope to do. To voice out with their drawings : )

Story~ no hurry, just based on your personal experience. If you have something to say, that's will be your story.

  6. You are welcome Jas!

btw, I agree. Many people can draw with good techniques. Yet what matter most is always what you can actually feel and get inspired from the drawings themselves. Thats why the spirit is always the most valuable then anything else.

I do have something to say ... and is looking for a proper way to speak it out. ahh .. haha .. it really takes time, cannot be rush. You are right ...

    Take good care there Jas!
